Restaurant Employee Relief Fund

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s (NRAEF) mission of service to the public is dedicated to enhancing the industry’s training and education, career development and community engagement efforts. The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and its programs attract people from all backgrounds to find a home in our industry, empower individuals to explore and chart their own path to success and advance the careers of the people we employ to make a positive impact across the country. In March 2020, the NRAEF announced the creation of a Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF) to support U.S. restaurant workers financially impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Industry icon Guy Fieri is leading a nationwide fundraising drive for the Fund via a Restaurant Relief America campaign. Fieri is the renowned chef, restaurateur, author, and Emmy Award Winning television Host of the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. As of April, the fund has raised over $20 million with 100 percent of the funds going to impacted restaurant workers.

The restaurant industry has been devastated by the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis, with workers across the nation losing their jobs and livelihood due to forced business closures. RERF was created to help those across the industry who were struggling due the global crisis. Learn more about the Fund, its progress and the work of the Foundation at ChooseRestaurants.org

As the industry of opportunity, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation provides proper workforce development, mentorship, and connections in foodservice and hospitality. Through generous partnerships, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation has been able to deepen the investment on the future of the foodservice industry.
